EUSA - Academic Internship Experts is seeking to appoint a temporary Programme Assistant to our London team based in South Kensington.

Overview

EUSA Academic Internship Experts works with universities, departments, and individual professors to create and deliver customized, academically-directed internship Programmes in London, Dublin, Madrid, Paris, and Prague.

EUSA's services include internship placement, housing, academic Programme development, and Programme management/safety. London is EUSA's flagship site, placing over five hundred students a year in a rapidly evolving internship market. London operates within a challenging and constantly shifting regulatory framework, requiring careful monitoring and compliance.

The London Programme Assistant will support Programme delivery, student engagement and logistical management of our London Programmes. This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with students and is committed to career development in the fields of higher education and study abroad.

Experience working in higher education, specifically in student services, advice, counselling, or compliance would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be competent with a range of IT software including MS Access and databases.

Reporting Relationships

The London Programme Assistant reports to the London Student Services and Academics Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the arrival and orientation of incoming students - which includes meeting students at the airport upon arrival, preparing and participating in orientation, and dropping them back off at the airport for departures

  • Attend and supervise cultural experiences, study, and excursions on pre-determined evenings and weekends throughout the summer

  • Assist in the booking of venues and administration of events such as arrival and departure parties

  • Assist in the creation and distribution of student materials

  • Assist with other administrative tasks within the office and across departments as required

  • Provide after-hours guidance and support to students a few evenings per week, answering queries from students and ensuring the Programmes are running smoothly

  • Assist with the provision of clerical and administration support in relation to the attendance monitoring system to ensure compliance for student visas

  • Assist in compiling data required to monitor current student activity and updating internal systems

  • Assist with 24-hour emergency care on call duty shared with other London team members

  • Undertake other duties as may be required

  • Training will be provided

Hours of Work

This is a full- time role based in South Kensington. However, the hours will be split between the main office in South Kensington, providing support to housing sites in central London (Zone 1), and attendance/supervision of pre-arranged events at evenings and weekends, in London and across the UK.

There will be an expectation that the candidates work some pre-arranged evenings and weekends.

Profile and Requirements

  • Permission to work in the United Kingdom

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Flexibility in terms of working hours

  • The ability to work well independently

  • Experience working in higher education, study abroad or a similar field

  • Proficiency in computer software packages

  • Knowledge of London, particularly cultural and tourism points of interest

  • Enthusiasm for working with students

Salary: £29,000 pro-rata
