Overview

EUSA Academic Internship Experts works with universities, departments, and individual professors to create and deliver customized, academically-directed internship programmes in London, Dublin, Madrid, Paris, and Prague.

EUSA has successfully placed over 30,000 students in academically directed internships over the past 40 years.

EUSA place several hundred students per year in academic internships in a range of industries including marketing, media, business, finance, health & science, psychology and the Arts (e.g. theatres, museums).

The Placement Coordinator is a key role, and they work directly with students to place them into internships across Dublin. As part of this, they provide support to students throughout their internship programme in Dublin.

In addition to internship placement, EUSA's services include housing, academic program development, and program management (including pastoral care, social programme and student wellbeing & safety).

Placement Coordinator

EUSA Academic Internship Experts is seeking to appoint a Placement Coordinator to our team based in Dublin.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with students to understand their career aspirations and place them in academic internships which support these

  • Responsible for providing clear guidance and support to students from initial interview through to successful completion of their internship

  • Accountable for identifying new companies and organisations that can provide internships for students (through research, cold calling)

  • Build and maintain relationships with companies that provide internships opportunities for EUSA students through ongoing communication and visits

  • Actively manage the internship database to track opportunities and trends in internships

  • Actively track students’ internship compliance including site visits and supervisor feedback

  • As part of student wellbeing & safety, responsible for undertaking regular internship site visits to ensure they are compliant with EUSA’s policy. Also to ensure they understand the culture of each internship company.

  • Deliver student presentations and workshops (for example, Orientation and professional development sessions)

  • Create content for EUSA’s social media platforms by creating engaging content about current students and for prospective students

  • Throughout the year, EUSA hosts full-service study abroad programmes for students. These take place for set, limited periods over a calendar year.

  • During EUSA’s delivery of study abroad programmes, the Placement Coordinator is required to take part in student activities (such as excursions in Dublin) and be part of a roster to respond to the student emergency phone.

Profile and Requirements

  • Permission to work in the Ireland

  • Based in commutable distance to Dublin city centre

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills

  • Strong problem solving and conflict management skills

  • Knowledge of Dublin business and industry trends

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills

  • High level of professionalism and accuracy

  • Self-starter, ability to use initiative and take ownership of projects

  • Degree level education and professional experience in higher education or an industry (e.g. HR, Marketing, the Arts)

  • Ability to maintain a degree of flexibility with regards to the ever-changing nature of the role itself
