The placement is set in a London university’s psychology department that has a growing academic research community. PhD students are also present in the department to provide you with support from younger researchers. The placement involves conducting research with the supervisor with full training on the data collection methods provided.
“During my time in my internship I worked primarily in the Research Staff Office alongside PhD students. The normal tasks involved meta-analysis of research articles, performing experiments and attending various meetings with my supervisor. I learnt a lot during my time there and enjoyed being part of real-life studies and experiments. My supervisor ensured I was involved in a variety of studies that were taking place in the department at the time so I got to observe and take part in various projects at different stages.”
